"This exhibition in California marked a pivotal moment, bringing the intricate stories of the Kasbah of Tangiers to a global audience. The contrast between the 'infinitely small' miniatures and the vast Californian horizon created a unique dialogue of scale and memory."

I’ve rewritten this post a number of times trying to capture the magic of this man. I’m unable to convey how much this memory means to me. But, my stories from the few precious hours we spent meeting this sweet, phenomenal, artist @mohamedraiselfenni will be told over and over on road trips, shopping hunts, dinner dates and any other chance I have time to truly express the awe of hearing Mohamed talk over his scrapbooks of his legendary fashion shows and art exhibits. Again, I will not fit everything that makes this man a giant in this post. Please, look carefully in the background of these pictures: the memories captured by his register, the elegantly adorned figurines, the tiny painted canvases (popsicle sticks and stones!!), Moroccan hats, …and you will still only scratch the surface of this man’s impressive repertoire. Not only was I able to bring a few of his framed surrealist paintings home with me🥹💚, but Mohamed allowed me to SWAP jackets with him 😳🤯. 😭 His beautifully designed, hand crafted, silk woven sweater jacket, worn perfectly from years of love and adventures, for my @samleemadethis corduroy and vintage canvas feed bag upcycled jacket. I know this wasn’t really about the exchange, that it’s clearly a lopsided trade. Mohamed is a shining example of the enormously kind, sweetly generous and joyful humans who happens to also be an Outstanding artist in everything he crafts. I intend to bring this beautiful jackets back to Mohamed next year. I cannot wait to see him again! And, I cannot believe I am able to be its custodian in the mean time. And I hope to be a worthy chapter in its history. I cannot end this post without crediting @sexynomad I don’t know what I did to deserve such a beautiful friend, American shop artisan and Moroccan shaman packaged in this beam of light, this sexy nomad. She IS the law of attraction—bringing out the joy and light and best in everyone she encounters. My escapades, thanks to this woman, are amplified to unmeasurable heights, a Fully Experienced journey!! 💃😘
